Jazmin, Steven, and Sophia came to their family session dressed to the nines – Jazmin and Sophia wore beautiful matching mustard dresses and Steven wore a lovely striped button-down and jeans. They were the absolute epitome of gorgeous, and I was so excited to photograph them!

We started their family session at Helen Hunt Falls in Colorado Springs. The falls provided a gorgeous backdrop for family portraits. Aren’t they just perfect?

Sophia has such vibrant blue eyes, they’re perfect to photograph. And her smile would melt anyone!

After Helen Hunt Falls, we made out way up a short, winding road to a small parking area with a beautiful overlook of the mountains. Colorado is such a gorgeous place to live, and the views are nothing short of stunning.

After grabbing a couple of shots with this view in the background, we moved on – to Gold Camp Road.

Gold Camp Road is a gorgeous location with plenty of breathtaking views of mountains just across small valleys, the fresh scent of nature, and my absolute favorite – TUNNELS.

Gold Camp Road consists of a total of nine tunnels that were originally rail road tunnels, most of which are no longer accessible to motor vehicles. Two of the tunnels are still accessible on Lower Gold Camp Road in Colorado Springs, and they provide a beautiful and unique spot for portraits.

We utilized both of these tunnels for a handful of shots. The first tunnel we reached curves, creating a beautiful black backdrop with just a small spot of light from the other end.

I had a blast standing inside the tunnel and having the family walk towards me holding hands.

Sophia is definitely a Daddy’s girl, and didn’t want to leave Steven’s arms. We managed to snag a couple shots of her with Mom, though, and their matching dresses just looked AMAZING together!

At the second tunnel, we were able to grab a couple of poses with Jazmin and Steven by themselves. They wanted cheesy and cute, so I suggested a dip, and after the dip, my favorite pose: them standing together, Jazmin facing me, and instructed Steven to “sniff” her ear. I know it sounds odd, but the results are lovely! See them below:

We finished up the session at an overlook with a beautiful view of Colorado Springs. It made for a perfect backdrop as the sun was setting behind the mountains, and a perfect end to an absolutely gorgeous day!
