These beautiful maternity portraits at the Nature Center in Pueblo, Colorado were an absolute dream to capture. The sky was overcast with a slight sprinkle, leaving the day cool with the fresh scent of rain. The Nature Center was lush and green, creating a perfect and beautiful backdrop.
The Taylor family, Alexandra, Paul, and Xander, were so much fun to photograph. Alexandra was 36 weeks and 4 days along, (expecting an adorable boy!) and absolutely glowing. They are only a few short weeks from meeting their new addition!
When asked what kind of look she was gong for in her portraits, Alexandra responded with, “I wanted to not only celebrate the new life growing inside of me, but also keep my whole family as a focus. I wanted family photos that captured the real us.” We took some classy family photographs along with ones that focused on Alexandra and her adorable bump!
Alexandra’s pregnancy has been smooth physically, but she expressed that emotionally, it had been rough. Previous losses left their family scared this pregnancy wouldn’t come to full term, so it has been an adventure. Listening to audio books has kept her distracted during this pregnancy, and helped her keep her mind off the “what if’s.” She lost over 160 pounds prior to her pregnancy, and stated that it had been difficult watching her body change after so much work, but that she was pleasantly surprised with how much she loves how her photos turned out. She looked gorgeous throughout the whole session! She described our session as “wonderful and carefree,” and when asked for one piece of advice she would give to other expectant mothers for their session, her answer was: “Don’t worry about your body looking ‘right,’ Lisa helps pose you in flattering ways and embrace your changing body and forever changed life.”
Alexandra told me she knew even before they found out that Baby Taylor was going to be a boy, that she just had a feeling he was a boy. She said she kept feeling unsatisfied with the boy names they had listed to the point of becoming frustrated. Then, one night she saw is name on a baby name website. A calm came over her and she knew is was his name. Her husband loved the name as well, and when they found out Baby Taylor was, indeed, and boy, everything just felt right.
Alexandra, Paul, and Xander plan on sharing that special name after baby’s arrival. We can’t wait to meet Baby Taylor once he makes his debut!
