March 25th, 2019, we welcomed our shining star to our family: Abel Jackson Acuna, born at 8:54 pm weighing 7 lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado. He was a week and a day early, but was born completely and totally perfect.

For the last month since his birth, Alan and I have been changing, feeding, burping, cuddling, and just all-around loving this sweet, perfect little boy. Having a newborn has been the hardest endeavor I have ever been so happy to take on. I have been sleep-deprived, covered in spit up, and eating a majority of my meals cold, but it has been worth every second of cuddles, kisses, reflex smiles, sweet coos, and that new baby smell. This period of time is going to pass so fast, and my little baby boy will be grown up all too soon – so while I am exhausted, hungry, and wearing yesterday’s clothes, I will relish every last moment of Abel being a newborn.
