This week, I’m going to show you a few before and after images!  When you’re choosing a photographer, you’re really choosing an editing style.  Unedited images are usually slightly dull in color and sometimes a little dark.  Editing brings out the color and creates artwork that is unique and beautiful, much like a painting, and just like a painting, sometimes editing styles can be recognizable!  My own style is fairly classic, with beautiful, vibrant colors that are authentic.  In this blog, you’ll get to see my images compared to the totally unedited images straight out of camera.

This shot is from a senior session in Pueblo Mountain Park just outside of Pueblo, Colorado.

And finally, here is a macro ring shot before and after.  Notice the little detail I changed on the slip of paper?  I added in the wedding date 😉

While I always strive to get the image as perfect in-camera as possible, creating works of art also happens in the editing that takes place after the session, as well.  Every single one of my images is hand-edited maximize colors and minimize blemishes.  When editing, I avoid major edits that change any permanent features.  I am a strong supporter of highlighting the natural beauty of my clients.

Now that you’ve seen a little before and after, sound off in the comments: are you surprised by the differences in the images?  Do you prefer the unedited images, or the edited ones?
